Job summary

Stinker Stores in Douglas, WY is hiring an Assistant Store Manager. Open 30–40 hours weekly with open availability, including weekends and evenings. $18.25–$21.90 per hour DOE, plus a $0.50 overnight premium for hours 10:00 p.m.–6:00 a.m.

You will support daily operations and mentor the team to ensure the store runs smoothly in the Store Manager’s absence. Founded in 1936, Stinker is a family-owned convenience leader across Idaho, Colorado, and Wyoming.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 19 years old.
• Must have valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
• Must consent to and pass a background check.
• Minimum HS Diploma or GED with two years of prior retail store management experience.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in a cooler at 32°F.

Responsibilities

• Provide scent-sational customer service and build relationships.
• Assist Store Manager with daily tasks: inventory, vendor deliveries, fuel deliveries.
• Ensure leadership coverage when the Store Manager is not available.
• Onboard, mentor, and lead the team to maintain smooth operations.

Assistant Store Manager

The Assistant Store Manager position is part of our Stinkin’ Awesome leadership crew! You’ll work closely with the Store Manager to keep daily operations running smoothly, all while being a scent-sational mentor to the team. Lead by example, make sure tasks stay on track, and step up when the Store Manager is out- ensuring everything is fresh and functioning perfectly in their absence.

What You’ll Do:

• Provide scent-sational customer service to customers and team members by creating a welcoming environment, assisting with their needs, answering questions, building relationships, and resolving customer concerns.
• Keep things smelling fresh by supporting the Store Manager on daily tasks such as books, inventory audits, vendor deliveries, supply orders, and fuel deliveries.
• Ensure leadership coverage is present when the Store Manager isn’t available.
• Assist in onboarding, mentor and lead by example, and sniff out ways to engage and motivate the team!

What You’ll Need

• Solution focused thinking- You get 5 minutes to complain, and then we solve problems and kick tail!
• Ability to learn new concepts and stay organized, maintaining a high level of attention to detail while multitasking (there are a lot of moving pieces and skunks headed in every direction!).

Requirements

• Must be at least 19 years of age. (We don’t make the rules… or law)
• Must have valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
• Must consent to and pass a background check.
• Minimum HS Diploma or GED with two years of prior retail store management experience.
• You don’t need to be an Olympic athlete, but you do need to be able to balance on a step stool or step ladder, lift up to 50 lbs., and work from floor to eye level.
• Able to work in a cooler at an average temperature of 32 degrees (hey, at least it’s not Antarctica).
