Job summary

Staples, Inc. is looking for an Assistant Manager to drive sales, services and customer engagement in the store. You and your team will build customer relationships, provide total solutions, and help the store be ready for business. Hiring immediately.

Lead a high-performing team, coach and train staff, achieve sales goals, manage merchandising, and support the GM in store operations. Strong communication and adaptability are required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years managing a sales team in retail or services.
• Experience coaching a customer-centric, solutions-based team.
• Ability to engage customers and understand their needs.
• Strong communication, organization and planning; adaptable to change.
• Review results against goals and plan for growth.
• Manage conflict in a cooperative, non-confrontational way.

Essential skills and experience:

• 2+ years managing a sales team in a retail or services industry
• Experience managing and coaching a team in a customer-centric, solutions-based environment
• Must be able to engage and speak to customers and understand their needs
• Strong communication, organization, planning and adaptive to changing business priorities
• Review results against business goals and strategies and deliver plans for growth and improvement
• Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational and cooperative manner
• Ability to act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
• Ability to work cooperatively in a high paced and sometimes stressful environment
• Ability to lift/move materials in the 10 - 50 pound range,climb ladders, stand and walk continuously
