Total Wine & More is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Massachusetts to grow our brand by delivering best-in-class service and leading a sales-driven store environment. You will support store operations, recruit and develop a team, and ensure compliant, profitable performance under the Store Manager’s guidance.

Responsibilities include driving sales, managing payroll and inventory, training staff, and maintaining a welcoming, knowledgeable atmosphere for customers while adhering to alcohol

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field preferred or equivalent experience.
• 1–3 years of work experience; 2+ years in a managerial or supervisory role in retail.
• Experience leading, motivating, and developing a sales-focused team.
• Familiarity with point-of-sale systems and inventory management software.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
• Must be 21+ and physically able to stand long hours, lift and move cases.

About the role As an Assistant Store Manager, you will grow the company brand by delivering best-in-class service and bringing to life a distinctive world of adult beverages and more for our customers. You will support store operations and help build a sales and service culture to expand our customer base and maximize profitability. Internally, you will be referred to as Assistant Manager and report to the Store Manager.

Responsibilities:

• Drive sales and deliver against key performance metrics (KPMs)
• Assist in recruiting, training, and leading store team, including ongoing development to enhance product knowledge and sales skills
• Support day-to-day operations, including payroll, inventory, merchandising and shrink
• Deliver outstanding customer service by leading by example, fostering a welcoming and knowledgeable store atmosphere, and resolving customer issues
• Help maintain vendor relationships to support store and inventory objectives
• Ensure adherence to all applicable laws and regulations related to the sale of alcohol and maintain a safe and compliant store environment
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Experience:

• You will come with Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field preferred or equivalent experience
• 1-3 years of work experience, 2+ years of proven experience in a managerial or supervisory role in a retail setting
• Experience leading, motivating, and developing a sales-focused team
• Familiarity with point-of-sale systems and inventory management software
• Ability to work a flexible schedule as business requires, including evenings and weekends
• Physical requirements (with or without accommodations) Must be 21 years of age or older Walk, bend down repeatedly, and be on feet for 8-10 hours a day Ability to safely lift, load, and handle cases and pallets Climb ladders and lift 50 lbs. overhead and repeatedly May be exposed to various outdoor weather conditions throughout the workday
