Job summary

The Sherwin-Williams Company is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to work with the store manager to organize, plan, and implement strategies in a Sherwin-Williams paint store. This role supports customer service, merchandising, inventory, finances, and store safety, and will assist in supervising and training store staff.

The position involves contact with customers to generate sales leads, and a typical schedule of 44 hours per week, which may include evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
• Must have a valid, unrestricted Driver's License
• Must have at least a High School diploma or GED
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs frequently and 70 lbs occasionally
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to supervise and train store staff

Responsibilities

• Support business strategies to increase sales and optimize profitability
• Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service
• Build knowledge of products to provide effective customer recommendations
• Build relationships with wholesale and retail customers
• Complete store administration
• Ensure compliance with safety, loss prevention, and security policies
• Maintain store condition and visual merchandising, including promotions and displays
• Support employee training, development, performance management, and corrective action
• Respond to and resolve customer and employee complaints
• Partner with Store Manager to perform outside sales calls to increase market share

Job description

The Assistant Store Manager works with the store manager to organize, plan, and implement strategies in a Sherwin-Williams paint store. This includes supporting all aspects of store operations, including customer service, marketing, merchandising, inventory, finances, and store safety. This role will assist in supervising and training store staff and be responsible for contacting customers to generate sales leads.

This position's typical schedule is 44 hours per week, which may include evenings and/or weekends.

This position is also eligible for bonus based on performance and subject to the terms of the Company's applicable plans.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
• Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future
• Must have a valid, unrestricted Driver's License
• Must have at least a High School diploma or GED
• Must be able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to retrieve material from shelves and floor stacks and lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 70 lbs. on occasion.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Have at least one (1) year of experience working in a retail, sales, or customer service position or have completed a Sherwin-Williams Management Training Program
• Have at least one (1) year of experience in leadership role(s), supervising others, or leading teams
• Have previous work experience selling paint and paint-related products
• Have work experience using timekeeping and/or customer relationship management ("CRM") systems
• Have an associate\'s degree or higher in business, sales, or marketing
• Willingness to relocate for future job opportunities
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in more than one language
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in Spanish
