Job summary

Food City is seeking an entry-level internship to support store operations in Clinton, TN. You will stock grocery items, rotate stock to maintain freshness, and help with signing, unloading trucks, and inventory tasks.

You will assist customers with courteous service, handle checkout duties as needed, and participate in opening/closing procedures. The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and flexible duties across departments.

Qualifications

• Stock grocery merchandise on shelves.
• Rotate all merchandise when stocking to ensure freshness and quality.
• Clean and straighten shelves.
• Assist with signing in and unloading of trucks.
• Assist in ordering and maintaining inventory level according to the store’s daily needs.
• Assist with nightly bank deposits according to policies and procedures.
• See that correct shelf tags are in place.
• Assist with stacking of product in the stock room.
• Sweep and mop floors.
• Bale all boxes.
• Assist with the opening and closing of the store.
• Assist with all departmental paperwork.
• Run register as needed.
• Provide efficient and courteous service to customers.
• Assist with bagging customers’ groceries.
• Enforce and maintain all safety policies & procedures.
• Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Responsibilities

• Support ordering and inventory control.
• Help with end-of-day money deposits and receipts.
• Ensure shelf tags are correct and up to date.
• Organize stock room and stack products.
• Clean floors and sweep areas.
• Prepare boxes for disposal or storage.
• Assist opening and closing procedures.
• Handle departmental paperwork as needed.
• Operate register when required.
• Deliver friendly, efficient service to customers.
• Assist with bagging groceries at checkout.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
