Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races seeks an experienced horse handler focused on the starting gate. The role involves loading and managing horses before races, plus assisting in mornings with schooling and gate setup.
Responsibilities include aiding veterinarians with injured horses, supporting track maintenance with horse ambulance duties, and helping EMTs with riders. The job requires physical endurance and licensed eligibility in West Virginia.
The job is extremely specialized and prior horse experience is required as well as being able to handle the heavy physical aspects of the position.
Mathematical Skills: Must be able to count and do general addition and subtraction.
Reasoning Ability: Must be able to anticipate how a horse may react in various situations.
Must be eligible to hold a West Virginia Racing Commission license.
