Job summary

Kansas City Public Schools in Missouri is seeking an assistant athletics coach to lead the school's athletic program for the assigned sport(s). You will develop, implement, and enhance the program while promoting student-athlete growth and aligning with district goals and expectations.

You’ll assist with practices, monitor academics with teachers and counselors, supervise student-athletes, manage equipment, complete required paperwork, coordinate transportation and game management, and model

Qualifications

Knowledge of particular sport (philosophy & coaching).
Must successfully complete the MSHSAA /NFHS Coaching Principles Course and Sports First Aid Courses.
Strong commitment to the student-athlete concept and working knowledge of eligibility regulations.

Responsibilities

Assist with practices by emphasizing teamwork, skill development, rules and strategies.
Assist with academic monitoring with teachers, counselors, and academic support staff.
Supervise student-athletes before, during, and after practices and contests.
Help manage equipment and inventory, and complete required paperwork.
Provide information for transportation, facilities, officials and game management.
Demonstrate high standards of sportsmanship at practices and contests.
Assist in coordinating the program and promote student athletes' academic and athletic achievements.
Engage in ongoing professional growth through clinics and publications.
