Job description

The Assistant Server – Cielo supports the service team by providing prompt and attentive guest service in an upscale dining environment. This role is responsible for bussing tables, assisting with beverage and food service, resetting stations, and maintaining cleanliness and readiness in the dining area. The Assistant Server works closely with Servers to ensure a smooth and memorable dining experience for guests.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Greets guests warmly and assists with seating as needed.
• Assists Servers with taking and delivering food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Additional coursework in hospitality or food and beverage service is a plus.
• Minimum of 6 months to 1 year of experience in a food and beverage support role such as busser, runner, or assistant server.
• Knowledge of food service procedures, table maintenance, and guest interaction standards.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, fine dining environment while supporting servers and ensuring timely service.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.
• Prior experience in an upscale restaurant, resort, or casino dining venue is preferred.
• Must meet all health and safety regulations and food handler requirements.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS:

Must have successfully completed a background check and obtained a gaming license issued by the Morongo Gaming Agency, as required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Must be able to read and interpret documents in English, such as instructions, guidelines, policies, and procedures. Must also be able to communicate clearly and effectively with team members, management, and guests.

• Manual Dexterity: Regularly uses hands and fingers to carry trays, set tables, pour water, polish utensils, and assist with food and beverage service.
• Mobility: Continuously moves throughout the dining area, kitchen, and service stations; requires walking, standing, reaching, bending, and stooping throughout the shift.
• Stationary Work: Rarely stationary; role requires near-constant movement to maintain service levels and assist servers and guests in real-time.
• Tool Operation: Regular use of food and beverage trays, polishing cloths, beverage service tools, and standard point-of-sale or dining service equipment.
• Visual Acuity: Requires close vision to monitor table settings, food presentation, and guest cues for service needs; must maintain awareness of floor layout and movement of staff and guests.
• Working Conditions: Routinely works in a high-end restaurant setting with exposure to warm kitchens, food and beverage handling, cleaning products, and moderate to high noise levels. Regular exposure to a smoking environment while transitioning through casino areas.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This is a dynamic, fast-paced environment that requires the ability to adapt and perform under pressure. The casino operates with moderate to loud noise levels and is a smoking environment, requiring team members to work comfortably in these conditions.

WORKING HOURS:

Morongo Casino Resort & Spa operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year; therefore, flexibility in scheduling is essential. Team members must be available to work shifts that may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events. Schedules are subject to change based on business needs and may include overtime, as well as work on both weekdays and weekends.
