Job Description

Oncology is a key therapeutic area for AbbVie, with a portfolio of marketed products and a promising oncology pipeline.

We are seeking an exceptional Assistant Scientific Director, Medical Affairs and Health Impact in precision medicine (contractor) in Oncology, with a strong background in cancer diagnostics, biomarkers, cancer therapeutics, and a demonstrated commitment to precision medicine.

Responsibilities:

• The contracting role will be responsible for executing key deliverables for the US go-to-market strategy under the guidance of the Assistant Scientific Director, Medical Affairs, Precision Medicine, focusing on c-Met in NSCLC. This includes:
• Executing medical strategy deliverables for c-Met NSCLC companion diagnostics.
• Supporting execution at key pathology congresses.
• Supporting medical education activities, including digital initiatives.
• Overseeing medical review of promotional materials.
• Supporting field medical education on biomarker activities and materials.
• Supporting advisory board activities.

Qualifications:

• Advanced scientific degrees such as PhD, MD, PharmD, or MBA.
• Industry experience requirements:
• Bachelor's degree: 8+ years
• Master's degree: 6+ years
• PhD: 3+ years
• Substantial understanding of the relevant therapeutic area.
• Prior US-specific launch experience, preferably supporting a companion or complementary diagnostic in oncology.
• Experience with US testing landscape stakeholders, including diagnostic partners, pathologists, oncologists specializing in precision medicine, and reference laboratories.
• Experience in Medical Affairs preferred, but experience in diagnostics, reference laboratories, or other pharma functions will be considered.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
