Job summary

Heritage Montessori-Newport Mesa, part of the Endeavor Schools Family, seeks an Assistant School Leader/Assistant Director to support the School Leader in daily operations, staff relations, and community-building.

The role requires leadership, regulatory compliance, staffing, hiring, and performance management to uphold high-quality Montessori standards. Starting pay is hourly $22.00–$26.00 depending on education and experience.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in education preferred or equivalent.
• 12 Child Development units REQUIRED.
• Willingness to learn Montessori principles to support high-fidelity practices.
• Minimum state standards/accreditation requirements apply.
• Minimum 3 years in education with a school/community impact.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience with budgets, revenue and financial accountability is a plus.
• Proficiency with MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Partner with School Leader on enrollment targets and performance metrics.
• Collaborate to implement Montessori program and nurture a culture of excellence.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, local regulations and licensing.
• Maintain staffing ratios and budget-conscious classroom staffing.
• Participate in hiring and staff retention and performance evaluations.
• Support staff development and disciplinary actions when needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
