Job summary

Waupaca Foundry, Inc. is seeking a Safety Coordinator to assist the Plant Safety Manager with safety, health, and fire safety programs on the production floor in Marinette, WI. You will help maintain compliance and promote a safe workplace.

Responsibilities include participating in accident investigations, managing safety inquiries, supporting ISO 45001 initiatives, and conducting OSHA audits, with administrative duties to support policy implementation.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in safety required or pursuing a safety degree.
• Completion of OSHA 10-hour session and knowledge of OSHA regulations.
• Product knowledge expected for safety programs.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Knowledge of ISO 45001 management system documentation.
• Applied knowledge of safety policies and procedures.
• Experience collaborating with all levels of an organization.
• Ability to audit safety systems and plant facilities.

• 1/3 of daily duties: production floor visibility, engagement, auditing, coaching.
• Assist with accident investigations and safety inquiries (near misses, suggestions).
• Respond to safety concerns at all levels.
• Assist safety manager with ISO 45001 development and implementation.
• Apply safety programs and policies to meet company goals.
• Perform OSHA compliance audits and WF policy audits.
• Lead Behavior Based Safety initiatives at the facility.
• Handle administrative tasks (filing, data entry, etc.).

ROLE:

Responsible for assisting the Plant Safety Manager in all safety, health, and fire safety activities and programs to prevent or correct unsafe working conditions.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• 1/3 of daily job duties will be production floor visibility, engagement, auditing and coaching
• 2/3 of daily job duties will be divided into the following assignments:
  • Assist with accident investigation
  • Management of the company’s safety inquiries (i.e. near miss, safety suggestions)
  • Respond to safety inquiries on all levels regarding safety concerns
  • Assist the safety manager in ISO 45001 development and implementation & with initiatives and goals
  • Apply safety programs and policies to meet company goals
  • Perform OSHA compliance audits & WF policy audits
  • Lead Behavior Based Safety initiatives at the facility
  • Administrative work (i.e. filing papers, AS400 data entry, etc.)

PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Associate degree in safety and/or actively pursuing a safety degree | 3-year maximum timeline
• Completion of OSHA 10-hour session & knowledge of OSHA regulations
• Product Knowledge
• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Point)
• Knowledge of ISO 45001 management system documentation/system
• Applied knowledge of safety policies and procedures
• Experience with working with all levels of organization
• Knowledge and ability to audit safety systems and plant facilities

• Ability to analyze accident data, new processes, and machinery for safety risk
• Self-motivated and organized, able to prioritize workload
• Strong communication, teamwork, analysis, and judgmental skills
• Must demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills & presentation skills including development of materials
• Strong desire to maintain a safe and healthy workplace for all employees

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

• Annual Travel Requirements: Assist peer review team at any facility, attend one professional development opportunity per year & assist other facilities as needed
