Job summary

United States Postal Service is seeking an Assistant Rural Carrier (ARC) to deliver and collect mail on rural routes in Reno, Sparks and surrounding areas. You may use your own vehicle and may work weekends/holidays to fit your lifestyle.

Salary is $21.89 per hour, paid bi-weekly. Full-time and part-time shifts are available. Candidates need two years driving experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, be at least 18, and pass Postal Service Test 473, with pre-employment screenings.

Qualifications

• Two years of driving experience.
• Minimum High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Minimum 18 years of age or older for insurance purposes.
• Successful completion and passing score on Postal Service Test 473.
• Valid Driver's License; DMV Printout if selected for hire.
• Grooming standards and accuracy/honesty standards.
• Customer service skills required.

Responsibilities

• Sort, lift and push moderate to heavy loads of mail and packages to prepare for delivery.
• Deliver mail along your assigned route.
• Pick up or collect mail from customers.
• Work indoors and outdoors in all weather: rain, snow, cold and heat.

Job Description

Assistant Rural Carrier (ARC) deliver and collect packages along routes in rural areas. Provide a variety of services to customers along your assigned route and may be required to provide your own personal vehicle. As an ARC you may opt to provide service to your community on weekends and holidays or up to seven days each week; whichever suits your lifestyle. If you enjoy working outdoors, while keeping your week free, this may be a great fit for you.

Minimum Qualifications

• Two (2) years driving experience.
• Minimum High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Minimum 18 years of age or older for insurance purposes.
• Successful completion and passing score on Postal Service Test 473.
• Valid Driver's License; DMV Printout if selected for hire.
• Position requires great attention to detail.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach. Ability to handle heavy containers of mail weighing up to the allowable maximum mailing weight (70 pounds).
• Company has strict grooming standards.
• Company has strict accuracy/honesty standards.
• Customer service skills required.
• Able to provide I-9 documentation.
• Employer conducts pre-employment drug screening and background check.
