Fitz's Fish Ponds in Saddle River, NJ is seeking an Assistant Retail Store Manager to support daily store operations, drive sales, and lead a team in a customer-focused environment. You will oversee inventory, merchandising, and events while promoting a collaborative atmosphere aligned with our service standards.

The role requires 2–4 years of retail experience with supervisory exposure, strong communication, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of retail experience, preferably in a supervisory role.
• Experience leading a team and coaching performance.
• Familiarity with ponds, aquariums, aquatic plants or fish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing daily store operations, including opening/closing procedures and workflow management.
• Support training and development of new and existing employees on culture, product knowledge, sales techniques, and daily responsibilities; monitor performance and coach to meet KPIs.
• Assist in payroll, schedules, and labor costs to ensure adequate staffing.
• Support inventory management, replenishment, price adjustments, ticketing, and stock control; assist in loss prevention and policy compliance.
• Maintain store visual standards and merchandising displays in line with brand guidelines.
• Analyze sales trends, track metrics, and support initiatives to improve store performance and profitability.
• Provide excellent customer service, addressing inquiries and guiding customers to departments.
• Care for store items including koi fish, plants, greenhouses, and outdoor areas; ensure a clean, safe environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the Retail Store Manager.
