Position Overview

South Seas is seeking an experienced Assistant Restaurant Manager to join the leadership team at Beach House. Reporting to the Restaurant Manager, this position assists with the day‑to‑day operation of the restaurant while ensuring exceptional guest service, efficient operations, and consistent execution of Beach House and South Seas service standards. The Assistant Restaurant Manager is a hands‑on leader who maintains a strong presence on the restaurant floor, supports and develops the front‑of‑house team, and ensures each shift runs smoothly and efficiently. This position assists with staffing, scheduling, training, labor management, guest satisfaction, service execution and overall restaurant performance. The ideal candidate is an energetic hospitality professional with strong restaurant operations experience, a passion for guest service, and the ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast‑paced resort environment.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities
  • Assist the Restaurant General Manager with the daily operations of Beach House.
  • Provide visible, hands‑on leadership to front‑of‑house team members throughout each shift.
  • Ensure consistent execution of restaurant service standards and an exceptional guest experience.
  • Lead pre‑shift meetings and communicate daily priorities, menu updates, service expectations, reservations, and operational needs.
  • Monitor the flow of service and make adjustments to staffing and assignments as necessary.
  • Engage with guests throughout service and promptly address questions, feedback, and concerns.
  • Assist with employee scheduling and daily staffing to ensure appropriate coverage while effectively managing labor.
  • Monitor payroll, overtime, and labor costs in accordance with established goals.
  • Support restaurant revenue, profitability, productivity, and cost‑control objectives.
  • Monitor food and beverage quality, presentation, timing, and overall service execution.
  • Partner closely with culinary leadership to ensure strong communication and coordination between front‑of‑house and back‑of‑house operations.
  • Maintain restaurant cleanliness, organization, appearance, and sanitation standards.
  • Assist with inventory management and ensure appropriate levels of restaurant operating supplies.
  • Ensure opening, closing, side‑work, cash‑handling, and other operational procedures are completed accurately and consistently.
  • Maintain compliance with food safety, sanitation, responsible alcohol service, and applicable health and safety requirements.
  • Ensure required team member training and certifications remain current.
  • Uphold the Beach House concept, atmosphere, and overall dining experience.
  • Serve as Manager on Duty for Beach House as scheduled.
  • Perform additional restaurant‑related duties as assigned by the Restaurant General Manager.
Team Leadership & Development
  • Assist with recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, training, and development of Beach House team members.
  • Ensure new hires receive appropriate orientation and position‑specific training.
  • Coach and develop team members to strengthen service, performance, and guest engagement.
  • Provide ongoing feedback and recognize strong team member performance.
  • Ensure team members maintain appropriate knowledge of menu offerings, beverage selections, service standards, and restaurant procedures.
  • Assist with performance evaluations and employee relations matters as appropriate.
  • Address performance concerns promptly and professionally in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Promote teamwork and effective communication between front‑of‑house and culinary teams.
  • Foster a positive, professional, and team‑oriented work environment.
  • Lead by example and consistently demonstrate South Seas’ Core Values.
What are we looking for?
  • Previous restaurant management or supervisory experience required.
  • Previous experience in a high‑volume, full‑service restaurant, resort, or hotel environment strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of front‑of‑house restaurant operations and service standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, motivate, and develop restaurant team members.
  • Strong guest service and problem‑solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of scheduling, labor management, payroll, productivity, and restaurant cost controls.
  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and responsible alcohol service requirements.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain composed and make sound decisions in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Ability to work effectively with both front‑of‑house and culinary teams.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • Must possess 2+ years management experience in the food and beverage division of hotel and/or resort.
  • Must possess 2+ years of experience hiring and developing talent.
  • QSR and Outdoor Dining experience is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills with fluency in English required.
  • Must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent, some college preferred.
  • Must be proficient in POS systems, Inventory Management Systems and Microsoft Office.
COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTS
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, motor vehicle background check will be completed
  • Alcohol Awareness Certification (must comply with State regulations)
  • Must be 18 years old or older to hold this role, serving/selling alcohol in state of FL
  • Food Handlers Certification (must comply with State regulations)
WORKING CONDITIONS - PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.
  • Must be able to stand/walk for prolonged periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift, up to 40 pounds
  • Must be able work in different types of weather sometimes extreme, including high temperatures and humidity..
SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS

Managers are expected to maintain flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to accommodate business needs, which will include working over 40 hours per week and responding to emergencies or unplanned operational needs after hours.
