The research focus of our lab explores the molecular and cellular mechanisms that control mitochondrial function, cell metabolism, and metabolic programming across various tissues and cell types, including skeletal muscle, immune cells, and the brain. Work in the laboratory is conducted across multiple levels, including in vitro assays, mammalian cell lines, and mouse models.In this role, you will be provided training for the following responsibilities:Maintaining and handling cell cultures and miceMolecular and cell biology techniques as dictated by project needs (i.e. plasmid cloning, Western blots, immunofluorescence staining)Mouse genotypingAssisting with general laboratory maintenanceDetailed record keeping and adherence to protocolsSuccessful candidates for this position will have the following qualifications:Bachelor of Science in Cell/Molecular Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related biomedical fieldsPrior wet lab bench experience is preferred, but not requiredExcellent interpersonal skills and patienceDemonstrated ability to work both independently and as an active member of an integrated teamDemonstrable written and oral communication skillsHow to ApplyIf you possess these attributes and enjoy working with motivated and driven people, we would welcome speaking with you and encourage you to apply today!
