OPHE's Implementation Team facilitates several statewide quality improvement projects and clinical implementation efforts, including provision of training, technical assistance, and program evaluation for behavioral health providers across New York State. The goal of these projects is to foster data-driven quality improvement and clinical decision making to improve the safety, efficiency, and quality of mental health care in New York State. The Assistant Research Scientist will assist in outreach, project support, and technical assistance for Hospital and Community Connections. This is a statewide effort that aims to improve communication and collaboration between hospitals and outpatient/community providers when an individual is experiencing a behavioral health crisis. Hospital and Community Connections involve facilitating and planning the implementation process among regional stakeholder groups, including occasional travel throughout the state. In addition, the position assists the public health community in using the Psychiatric Services and Clinical Knowledge Enhancement System (PSYCKES) application. PSYCKES is an award-winning web-based application designed to support quality improvement and clinical decision making and is currently in use by over 400 provider agencies in New York State as well as state agencies, county governments, health homes, and managed care organizations.
Candidate must be highly organized individual with a strong attention to detail, relate well to a diverse group of project stakeholders, and have the ability to work both independently and as a part of a team.
