Port Orange, City of in Florida is seeking an Assistant Purchasing Manager to support the Purchasing Manager in directing procurement strategies and activities for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
You will manage end-to-end acquisition, build strong vendor relationships, and research initiatives to reduce costs while improving quality of municipal services. The role includes supervising purchasing staff and participating in emergency procurement operations.
The Assistant Purchasing Manager will support the Purchasing Manager in directing the city’s procurement strategies and activities to maximize efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Your role involves managing the end-to-end acquisition of goods and services while building strong vendor relationships to ensure high-quality performance and timely delivery. Additionally, you will proactively research and implement initiatives designed to reduce costs and enhance the overall quality of municipal services.
Carry out supervisory responsibilities including interviewing, hiring, and training new employees; planning, assigning, directing and reviewing work; mentoring, motivating, coaching and appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws.
