The Chautauqua County Office of the Public Defender seeks qualified applicants for multiple full-time Assistant Public Defender positions in the Criminal Division (Mayville, Jamestown, & Dunkirk, NY Offices) and Family Court Division (Mayville, NY Office). Positions are full-time salaried positions at 35 hours per week.

The incumbent represents indigent defendants after arrest, may prosecute appeals if warranted, and works under supervision of higher-ranked Public Defenders.

Qualifikationen

• Eligibility for admission to practice as an attorney and counselor at law before NY courts.
• Admitted to the Bar of the State of New York at time of appointment.

• Represent indigent defendants, without charge or by court order, at every stage after arrest.
• Prosecute appeals if warranted and provide counsel as needed.
