Job summary

The Isabella County is seeking an Assistant Public Defender based in Mount Pleasant, Michigan for a full-time, on-site role. You will represent clients in criminal defense, conduct legal research, and prepare court documents.

Daily duties include appearing in court, advising clients, and handling all aspects of criminal law and proceedings while maintaining ethical standards and caseload management. The successful candidate will hold a Juris Doctor degree and a valid Michigan license to practice

Qualifications

• JD degree and active Michigan state bar license.
• Experience in criminal defense and public defense is a plus.
• Strong advocacy, research, and courtroom skills.
• Ability to manage a caseload independently and in a fast-paced environment.
