Job summary

Natorp in Mason, OH seeks an Assistant Propagator to support daily propagation and greenhouse operations. You will handle incoming cuttings, seeds, and propagation materials, performing sticking, seeding, transplanting, and spacing according to production schedules.

You will monitor crops daily for growth, moisture, pests, and disease, and assist in managing environmental conditions, including temperature, humidity, irrigation, and fertility.

Qualifications

• Experience in plant propagation, greenhouse production, or horticulture preferred.
• Proficient in sticking, seeding, transplanting, and general plant care.
• Knowledge of irrigation, fertility, and environmental controls.
• Attention to detail; ability to identify plant quality issues, insects, or diseases.
• Strong time management, communication, and organizational skills.
• Basic computer skills including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
• Able to multitask and work in a fast-paced production environment.
• Weekend work and extended hours when needed; team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Assist propagation grower and greenhouse leadership with daily propagation and operations.
• Receive, organize, and care for cuttings, seeds, and propagation materials.
• Perform sticking, seeding, transplanting, spacing, and other propagation activities.
• Monitor crops daily for growth, moisture, pests, and disease; report issues promptly.
• Assist with managing environmental conditions: temperature, ventilation, humidity, irrigation, and fertility.
• Support care and development of propagation and vegetable crops for future production stages.
• Organize crops to maximize greenhouse space and maintain optimal growing conditions.
• Maintain clean, safe, and efficient greenhouse facilities and work areas.
• Collaborate with Plant Health and Grower teams for pest and disease management.
• Maintain records on crop progress, environmental conditions, production activities, and inventory.
• Train and assist team members on propagation procedures and quality standards.
• Participate in weekly crop evaluations and quality walks with leadership.
• Follow all safety policies, SOPs, and quality expectations.

ASSISTANT PROPAGATOR

Qualifications

• Previous experience in plant propagation, greenhouse production, or horticulture preferred.
• Experience with cutting, sticking, seeding, transplanting, and general plant care techniques.
• Knowledge of basic greenhouse growing practices, including irrigation, fertility, and environmental controls.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify plant quality issues, insects, or diseases.
• Excellent time management, communication, and organizational skills.

• Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
• Ability to work weekends and extended hours when business needs require.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Propagation Grower and Greenhouse leadership team with all aspects of daily propagation and greenhouse operations.
• Receive, organize, and care for incoming cuttings, seeds, and propagation materials.
• Perform sticking, seeding, transplanting, spacing, and other propagation activities according to production schedules.
• Monitor crops daily for growth, quality, moisture levels, insects, and disease concerns, communicating issues promptly to the Propagation Grower.
• Assist with managing environmental conditions, including temperature, ventilation, humidity, mist cycles, irrigation, and fertility programs.
• Support the care and development of propagation and vegetable crops to ensure healthy growth and readiness for future production stages.
• Assist in organizing and placing crops to maximize greenhouse space and maintain optimal growing conditions.
• Ensure greenhouse facilities, work areas, and equipment are maintained in a clean, safe, and efficient manner.
• Collaborate with the Plant Health and Grower teams to implement pest and disease management practices.
• Maintain accurate records related to crop progress, environmental conditions, production activities, and inventory as directed.
• Train and assist team members on propagation procedures and quality standards when requested.
• Participate in weekly crop evaluations and quality walks with greenhouse leadership.
• Follow all company safety policies, standard operating procedures, and quality expectations.

Compensation

• Wage Range: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour, based on experience, skills, and qualifications.

Benefits

• Full-time, year-round position. Part-time hours are not available for this position.
• Benefits available after 90 days, including PTO, Holiday Pay, Health Insurance, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance.
• 401(k) available after one year of employment.
