Job summary

The University of California, Davis is seeking an Assistant Project Scientist to contribute to womb-to-tomb affective neuroscience in rhesus monkeys. The appointee should have expertise in either monkey behavior or neuroanatomy and demonstrate strong quantitative and writing skills.

The incumbent will work under the supervision of Eliza Bliss-Moreau, Ph.D., across Bliss-Moreau Laboratory funded projects, engaging in data collection, analysis, and manuscript preparation.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. required in a relevant field (psychology, biology, behavioral neuroscience, anthropology or related).
• Expertise in nonhuman primate behavior or neuroanatomy (histology and MRI) preferred.
• Strong quantitative and writing skills.
• Ability to work independently under guidance and collaborate across projects.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to a diverse, ongoing research program on affective neuroscience in rhesus monkeys.
• Design experiments, collect data, train animals, analyze data, and prepare manuscripts with PI input.
• Publish results in peer‑reviewed journals and other outlets in collaboration with the team.
