Job summary

Interstates is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join the Design Services team in Sioux Falls, SD or Sioux Center, IA. You will work closely with field crews to keep projects on track and deliver excellent work for clients, while taking on challenging industry tasks.

Our culture emphasizes coaching, training, and development. You can grow into a Project Manager role in 2–3 years, with travel up to 20% and a strong safety focus across our projects.

Qualifications

• Ability to track and organize projects and priorities.
• Willingness to adjust project systems to ensure delivery.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Comfort speaking with clients, peers, and managers.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Project Manager and jobsite leadership in managerial and leadership functions on the project.
• Run project control systems for the project team.
• Create and update CPM schedules and communicate them.
• Coordinate Last Planner scheduling and crew boards.
• Handle RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, and site communications.
• Act as a project analyst to support problem solving and alternate methods.
• Provide estimating take-offs and support for change orders.
• Attend client meetings onsite and collaborate with trade contractors.
• Prepare information for monthly project reviews.
• Assist in procurement and expediting materials and subcontracts.
• Promote Interstates safety culture daily.
