Job summary

Colliers Project Leaders is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join the Owner's Rep team in San Antonio, TX, focusing on data center projects. You will lead project setup, budgeting, scheduling, RFPs, and coordination across design and construction phases to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 2+ years (3–5 preferred) of PM experience, with strong knowledge of CSA/MEP disciplines and Procore familiarity.

• 2+ years of project management experience; 3–5 years preferred.
• Data Center construction management experience preferred.
• CSA/MEP knowledge and general contractor experience recommended.
• Proficient with MS Office and project scheduling tools (MS Project or P6).
• Experience with Procore software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of assigned construction projects from pre-construction through closeout.
• Develop project budgets and schedules; oversee RFPs and pre-bid planning.
• Coordinate with designers, contractors, and operations for seamless execution.
• Manage safety, quality, and compliance on site; track progress and reporting.

We are currently looking for a Assistant Project Manager to join our Owner's Rep team in San Antonio, TX with Data Center experience.

Responsibilities

Lead all aspects of assigned responsibilities on construction projects, not limited to, but inclusive of the following:

• Project set up with project budget and schedule creation including oversight.
• RFP development, pre-bid planning, oversight, and coordination.
• Assist team on facilitating design and construction phases.
• Assist with coordination of contractors. Either traditional contractors or design build contractors.
• Oversight of physical construction activitieson site.
• Leading commissioning of critical systems integrationacross new customer builds and existing data centers.
• Hand-off of physical data center and project documents to customer and operations.
• Management in contractor safety performance.
• Assist with coordination and logisticalplanning for all OFCI equipment.
• Management of project scope, safety, schedule, stakeholder, data center work rules, and budget.
• Drive all aspects of construction including pre-construction, design development, permitting and entitlements, competitive bid process, team selection, construction oversight, commissioning, and project closeout.
• Act as project leader, drive coordination and integration of internal customers within the project.
• For assigned construction projects, manage General Contractors and vendors project management resources.
• Report to assigned project team and manager.
• Assist with portfolio execution on projects from concept through commissioning and prepare various reports on a monthly and/or quarterly basis.
• Drive day-to-day construction decisions to conclusion.
• QA/QC work of assigned projects to confirm accuracy.
• Handle inputs and delivery of work products with internal team members to ensure that new data center spaces follow all applicable client requirements.
• Establish and track project budgets. Submit approval packages to approval group.
• Partner with Base Building Director(s), Construction Cost & Finance to produce monthly project forecasts including variance analyses as well as execution of Master Service Agreements (MSAs) and project authorizations for new and existing contractors and vendors.
• Vendor/Contractor management including qualification and relationship building/maintenance.
• Review monthly billing with team, confirm substantiation and audit vs budget.
• Ensure ‘lessons learned’ are held and placed in the feedback loop to drive continuous improvement.
• Ensure project team aligns with project turnover documentation requirements to Operations.
• Work closely with Operations to coordinate design criteria and construction with ongoing maintenance and operation of existing facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering or a similar field.
• 2+ years of project management experience is required, 3-5 years is preferred.
• Sophisticated and technical construction experience is required.
• Data Center and General Contractor experience preferred.
• Experience in CSA (civil, structural, architectural) and MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) construction management is a requirement.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management tools like MS Project or P6.
• Knowledge of Procore software preferred.
• Travel may be required and could grow, but will be assessed by the project team.
• Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
