ENFRA is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the Project Manager through the project life cycle on commercial and industrial HVAC/mechanical installations in Florida.   • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Mechanical Engineering or related field; practical industry experience considered.
  • Ability to read construction plans and specifications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; detail-oriented and multitasking capable.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; able to handle multiple ongoing projects.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in maintaining a safe, productive work environment by coordinating safety meetings and investigations.
  • Support project managers and superintendents in executing the project life cycle.
  • Coordinate HVAC and plumbing installation planning to meet code, requirements, and schedules.
  • Participate in meetings to support departmental and project goals.
  • Prepare vendor and subcontractor purchase orders, submittals, and shop drawings reflecting contract documents.
  • Contribute to monthly reports and cost reviews to keep projects on time and budget.
  • Assist in estimating change orders and project close-out including commissioning requirements.
  • Collaborate with project team across all phases to develop professional skills in the mechanical trades.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Mechanical Engineering

Overview

The Assistant Project Manager will be responsible for assisting the Project Manager with managing the project life cycle process on assigned projects. The APM will assist in obtaining project pricing, budgeting, estimating, detailing, management of subcontractors/vendors, and project schedules.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in maintaining a safe and secure work environment by coordinating safety meetings, incident investigations, and maintaining employee involvement.
  • Responsible for assisting project managers and superintendents in executing the project life cycle.
  • Work with the Project Manager to ensure proper planning and management of the installation of HVAC and plumbing to ensure that the installation meets code and project requirements and is brought in on time and under budget.
  • Participate in operation, corporate, and departmental meetings, as required to successfully execute the project and/or departmental goals.
  • Assist the Project Manager in preparations of vendor and subcontractor purchase orders, submittals, and shop drawings to reflect contract drawings, specifications, and estimates.
  • Actively participate in monthly reports and cost reviews, capturing deviations from plan or schedule. Working with the project team in order to bring the project in on time and under budget.
  • Assist the Project Manager as needed with estimating change orders, project documentation, and project close-out, including commissioning requirements.
  • Responsible for actively participating with the project team on all facets of the project life cycle to ensure project goals are met; while developing a skillset to progress one's career in the mechanical industry.
Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Mechanical Engineering;or related field experience preferred. However, we value practical industry experience and will consider candidates who have advanced through the mechanical construction trades. Extensive experience managing commercial or industrial plumbing and mechanical work, coupled with demonstrated leadership and project coordination abilities, may be substituted for formal education requirements
  • 0-2 years' experience in the industry.
  • Basic knowledge of construction technology, scheduling, equipment, and methods.
  • Ability to read construction plans and specifications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic knowledge of the industry and the Company's competitors.
  • Excellent multitasking skills, with the ability to perform duties outside of the scope of work when necessary.
Preferred Education, Experience, and Qualifications
  • Experience in processing submittals.
  • Experience in heavy commercial construction.
  • Hands-on experience in craft supervision and labor coordination.
Travel Requirements
  • 20% of time will be spent traveling to job site(s)/office location.
Physical Activities
  • Climbing stairs.
  • Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods
  • Ascending and descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles
  • Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another

Pay Range
USD $27.92 - USD $37.29 /Hr.
