Full-Time Position ~ DOWNEY & SCOTT, LLC

Construction Management Services seeks a highly motivated individual to join our team of professionals in delivering critical construction support services for our clients. The position will provide Assistant Project Management and Inspector services on a broad range of public and private sector projects and ensure that all construction projects are completed fully, correctly, on time/budget, and in accordance with the Building Code and other requirements.

Description of Position:

• 4+ years of project management/inspection services for commercial building projects
• Construction Management or Engineering Degree (Preferred but not required)
• Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and enforce contract documents
• Excellent communication skills, keen attention to detail, quality control, and demonstrated organizational skills
• Ability to think strategically, plan, problem‑solve and collaborate with Senior project team members
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Microsoft Project, and Excel
• Valid Driver’s License with an insurable driving record
• Considerable knowledge of construction trades and building codes
• Ability to interpret and apply codes and standards
• Ability to maintain harmonious relationships with project stakeholders
• Ability to identify deficiencies in building components through visual inspection and description of operational problems
• Demonstrated ability to communicate orally and in writing

Responsibilities Include:

• Assisting in the management of projects through all phases of design and construction
• Attend Design and Construction meetings as necessary to represent the Owner’s interests
• Confirm all project tasks are being executed and completed in accordance with the client's goals and objectives, and the construction documents
• Assist in Facility Condition Assessment projects
• Manage the Project Punchlist process and project close‑out
• Analyze and interpret contract documents
• Participate in construction progress meetings and assist in client updates
• Perform onsite observations, project record‑keeping, progress reports, and related documentation
• Perform onsite quality control
• Review of Payroll(s) and input into Davis Bacon Wage Report Spreadsheet
• Uploading Contractor Field Reports
• Create/Maintain Project Schedules
• Compile Reports
• Build and maintain client relationships
• Work closely with Senior Project Managers and Construction Managers

The position will be based out of our Office in Warrenton (Vint Hill), Virginia. This project will be on and off‑site.
