Job summary

Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group, LLC is seeking an Assistant Project Manager I to support project managers on engineering, procurement, and construction activities through development and execution phases.

You will coordinate disciplines, assist with initial schedules, participate in value engineering, and help with procurement, safety plans, and monthly reviews. Strong communication and team skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, construction science/management, engineering, or equivalent.
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Strong problem solving and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with estimating, scheduling, and project management software.
  • Understanding of EPC and construction processes.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate engineering, estimating, project controls, procurement, and construction activities.
  • Assist PM in developing initial project schedules with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Participate in value engineering and constructability reviews.
  • Support procurement by developing subcontractor scopes and schedules.
  • Assist safety with project safety plan and incident reporting.
  • Prepare monthly project review reports for PM and Senior Management.
  • Manage monthly financial reviews and project closeouts.
  • Assist with RFI submissions using QISG’s document management system.
  • Provide feedback to improve quality of deliverables.
  • Assist in procurement of POs and subcontract packages.
  • Monitor progress of design, procurement, and construction.
  • Close-out and warranty administration.
  • Post-construction cost review and lessons learned.
  • May act as PM when qualified.
  • Adhere to internal standards and policies.

About this Role

The Assistant Project Manager I (APM I) will assist/support the Project Manager (PM) on project tasks as assigned, follow-up on deliverables, and review with the PM. This position will be responsible for the coordination of engineering, estimating, project controls, client presentations, procurement, and construction activities during the development and execution phase(s) of the project.Work assignments may include supporting multiple projects concurrently. While not otherwise involved in project-specific work, the APM I will support other project and proposal efforts, or may work with, or do rotations with the various operational support groups.

What You'll Do
  • Coordinates engineering, estimating, project controls, procurement, and construction activities during the development and execution phase(s) of the project
  • Assists PM in the development of the initial project schedule in conjunction with engineering, estimating, project controls, procurement, and construction management personnel
  • Participates in value engineering and constructability reviews
  • Works with procurement to develop subcontractor and vendor scopes of work and schedules exhibits to the contracts for review by PM before processing
  • Works with the appropriate Safety personnel on all safety-related issues, including but not limited to, development and implementation of the project-specific safety plan, reporting of incidents, and supporting the investigation of incidents
  • Assists the PM with project schedule and helps prepare monthly project review reports for the project management team and Senior Management
  • Supports project by conducting financial reviews and closeouts on a monthly basis
  • Assists with RFI submittals utilizing QISG’s document management system
  • Provides feedback to improve Quality of all technical, commercial, and administrative deliverables for projects
  • Assists in procurement of purchase orders and subcontract packages
  • Monitors progress of overall design, procurement, and construction of the project
  • Facilitates Project Close-Out and Warranty administration
  • Performs post-construction cost review and reporting and participates in lessons learned
  • Performs any other duties assigned by the PM, including acting as PM when PM is unavailable (when deemed qualified by PM/Operations Director)
  • Adheres to internal standards, policies, and procedures
What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Construction Science/Management, Enigneering, or equivalent field and/or an sccredited apprenticeship; equivelent work experience, or combination of work and education, may be substituted
