$110,000 to $145,000 per year, depending on skills and experience
This role is paired with a Senior Project Manager on active heavy civil and highway projects, with hands-on responsibility from day one. The Assistant Project Manager drives submittals, RFIs, and procurement schedules to keep field crews ahead of the work, and coordinates subcontractors and supplier purchase orders to protect schedule commitments. The role tracks quantities, production, and costs against budget, flagging variances early, and supports monthly payment requisitions, cost projections, and project documentation. The Assistant Project Manager also participates in weekly project team meetings covering schedule and cost review, and supports safety practices and culture across the project. As experience is demonstrated, the role expands to include owner and inspector interface, schedule updates, and change management.
