Job summary

Interstates is seeking a proactive Assistant Project Manager to work with our Design Services team in Sioux Falls, SD or Sioux Center, IA. You’ll partner with field crews to keep projects on track and support the project manager with planning, scheduling, budgeting, and communications.

You’ll contribute to CPM schedule updates, RFI handling, submittals, meeting minutes, and monthly reviews, while promoting safety and teamwork. Travel ~20% is expected as projects span multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or associate's degree in a construction-related field.
• Experience with project controls and construction management.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% for project visits.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Project Manager and jobsite leadership in managerial and leadership functions on the project.
• Run project control systems for the project team.
• Create and update CPM schedules and communicate changes.
• Coordinate Last Planner/White Board crew scheduling.
• Prepare RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, and other site communications.
• Act as a project analyst to assess controls information and assist leadership.
• Provide estimating take-offs and support for analysis and change orders.
• Attend client meetings onsite and collaborate with trade contractors.
• Prepare information for monthly project reviews.
• Assist in procurement and expediting of materials and subcontracts.
• Promote Interstates safety culture daily.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the Project Manager and jobsite leadership in managerial and leadership functions on the project

Education:

Travel

This position will be based out of our Sioux Falls, SD, or Sioux Center, IA office. Travel for this role is expected up to 20% of the time.
