Job summary

GCS-SIGAL is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join our construction team in Washington, DC. You will work closely with Project Managers and Superintendents to contribute at every stage of our projects, from pre-construction through closeout, ensuring safety, quality, and on-time delivery.

Ideal candidates have a technical degree and 3–5 years in construction, with strong communication, multitasking, and proficiency in Procore and MS Office.

Qualifications

• BS or MS degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of construction experience or equivalent.
• Ability to succeed as an APM with education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Actively maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
• Creatively solve challenges that arise on projects with a positive attitude.
• Communicate clearly and effectively.
• Process change-orders from subcontractors.
• Accurately and thoroughly prepare subcontractor bids and work scopes.
• Process submittals and RFIs.
• Manage and upload updates to project drawings, specifications, and other contract documents.
• Work with the project team to plan the work on site and manage the plan’s progress.
• Work with the project team to develop schedules, site logistics, and phasing plans.
• Assist with project financial items including owner billing, subcontractor invoice review, and financial status reports.
