Job summary

Valdes Architecture & Engineering seeks a Construction Project Coordinator to support the Coordinator group and assist Project Managers on large-scale construction projects. You will develop policy documents, monitor costs and schedules, and help deliver project objectives through effective PMIS usage and stakeholder coordination.

Required are a related engineering degree or equivalent experience, 2+ years technical or 5+ years project/architectural experience, and the ability to work a flexible

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline, Construction Management, or related field.
  • 2+ years technical experience or 5+ years project/architectural-engineering/technical experience.
  • Expand the project management knowledge base in project management methodology, processes, tools, techniques, and software.
  • Expanded comprehension in project management guidelines, standard, processes, and job aids.
  • Expanded proficiency in PMIS utilization and integration; scheduling software, risk management software, cost management software, dashboards and tool integration of project controls information.
  • Applies leadership and interpersonal skills in a situational leadership approach.
  • Ability to manage stakeholders with effective communication and teamwork.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule and in areas with challenging environments.
  • Must be able to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

  • Provide field technical support for the Coordinator group.
  • Support development of policy, procedure, and training documents; issue regular reports.
  • Monitor project costs and schedules.
  • Assist Construction Coordinator PM Team as needed.
  • Collaborate with Project Manager on large-scale construction projects.
  • Apply project management processes to initiate, plan, execute, monitor and control projects; ensure objectives.
  • Implement product-to-project scope configuration management.
  • Lead and direct project management team and stakeholders.
  • Apply quality management to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Apply risk management to deliver project objectives.
  • Apply procurement management to transfer risk and create value for buyer/seller.
  • Estimate and control project costs within objectives.
  • Plan and schedule to meet project time objectives.
  • Coordinate human resources for project performance.
  • Engage stakeholders and manage expectations.
  • Communicate effectively to manage stakeholders.
  • Ensure safety and environmental objectives are realized.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Provide field technical support for the entire Coordinator group
  • Support development of policy/procedure/training documents. Issue regular reports for weekend coverage, project accruals, etc.
  • Monitor project costs and schedules
  • Provide additional assistance to the Construction Coordinator Program Management Team as needed
  • Working alongside Project Manager to assist with large scale construction project
  • Employs project integration processes to effectively initiate, plan, execute, monitor and control, and effectively transient the project to the customer and ensure project objective accomplishment Integrates competence in the product life cycle components to the definition and management of non-product objectives (safety, cost, schedule, human resource, etc.)
  • Implements product to project scope configuration management
  • Applies expanding interpersonal skills to lead, manage, and direct the project management team and project stakeholders
  • Employs quality management processes to effectively initiate, plan, execute, monitor and control and ensures customer satisfaction
  • Employs risk management processes to effectively initiate, plan, execute, monitor and control and delivers project objectives
  • Employs procurement management proficiencies and processes to effectively transfer product and project risk (threats) and exploit, enhance, and share product opportunities to third parties at a fair and equitable price to establish and deliver objective value to both buyer and seller as a result of the project
  • Employs cost management proficiencies to effectively estimate, budget, and control costs within project objective (success) parameters for the project
  • Employs schedule management proficiencies to effectively plan, schedule, and deliver the project within the designated project time objective (success) parameters for the project
  • Applies and integrates proficiency in human resource processes and skills to optimize coordination of the project management team performance and ensures optimum coordination is achieved given existing human resource policies and procedures
  • Effectively engages project stakeholders; employs effective strategies in dealing with negative stakeholders and integrate the project objectives with the composite of individual project stakeholder requirements and expectations
  • Applies proficiency in effective communication management to manage and control project stakeholders
  • Applies proficiency in project governance and utilize effective communication and objective management to ensure that the project's safety and environmental objectives are realized

  • Applies an increasing proficiency in leadership, management, organizational theory, personal, interpersonal skills in a "situational leadership" application
  • Manages project stakeholders using cognitive ability, personal effectiveness, innovation, value-based decision-making, integrated communication (soft and hard skills); conflict resolution, and teamwork
  • Capability to efficiently perform duties under stringent deadlines, schedules, and conditions
  • Must be able to work a flexible work schedule
  • Must be able to work in areas of high noise, dust, extreme temperatures, confined spaces and chemical hazards Must have valid Driver's License
  • Must possess exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Must be able to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future

$33 - $52 an hour
