Assistant Project Manager

Responsibilities
- Assist in managing construction projects from preconstruction through project closeout.
- Support planning, design, execution, and closing of assigned projects.
- Provide support to the Project Manager and Senior Project Manager.
- Establish and nurture long‑term relationships with clients.
- Communicate project specifications at all levels, from field management to executive management, and externally with clients, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Coordinate preconstruction stages, including job walks, plan distribution, and resource planning.
- Prepare budgets and estimates for all design stages, from conceptual through final construction documents.
- Develop estimating bid packages.
- Schedule preconstruction and construction phases, identifying milestones and durations.
- Create master schedules, project timelines, milestones, and identify long‑lead items and needs.
- Participate in the award process and prepare subcontract agreements.
- Update weekly schedules for current and prospective projects.
- Acquire all required permits.
- Verify inspection schedules and reports.
- Prepare weekly customer update reports.
- Assemble backup documentation for subcontractor and owner change orders.
- Support on‑site relationships with clients, facility representatives, subcontractors, and city officials.
- Adhere to all safety policies and support company safety initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 2–5 years of project management or related experience.
- Degree in construction management or a related field preferred.
- Proven track record of measurable achievements and leadership roles.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills at all project levels.
- Proficiency in scheduling during preconstruction and construction, including milestone identification.
- Experience with preconstruction processes: site surveys, subcontractor selection, client proposals.
- Experience with retail, fast‑casual dining, quick‑service dining, or hospitality projects preferred.
- Ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications.
- Proficient with standard Microsoft Office tools and Microsoft Project.
- Experience with CMiC, PlanGrid, and Bluebeam is a plus.
- Attention to detail, creative problem‑solving, and analytical skills.
- Strong initiative, barrier removal, and execution ability.
