Job summary

Black Box is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support client delivery projects on-site in Louisiana. The role coordinates daily activities, tracks documentation, and helps align teams with NASI PMO standards to deliver projects on time and within budget.

The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and eager to improve processes, support technical teams, and strengthen project performance. Travel up to 15% is required, and a STEM degree with 1–3 years construction experience is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Degree: Construction Management, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, other STEM based degree programs. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Experience: 1-3 years’ experience in construction
  • Good computer skills
  • Proficient in Windows, SharePoint, Excel, power point and Word - basic knowledge and use

Responsibilities

  • Follow Safe Work Practices that conform with the Company’s Safety Program and client worksite policies.
  • Promote company Core Values to foster and safeguard Company culture.
  • Provides support to project managers for change orders, project logs, daily reports, RFI’s, scope verification, etc.
  • Assists with cost control and financial management tracking
  • Coordinates scope of work - daily work projections
  • Preparing submittals
  • Review and compile pay applications, change requests, and project financial documentation
  • Assists in contract administration
  • Assists in employee time and recordkeeping
  • Coordinating work with other project team members - construction managers, quality specialists, safety, etc.

  • Provides support to project managers for change orders, project logs, daily reports, RFI’s, scope verification, etc.
  • Assists with cost control and financial management tracking
  • Coordinates scope of work - daily work projections
  • Preparing submittals
  • Review and compile pay applications, change requests, and project financial documentation
  • Partners with Project manager to craft responses to client requests - correspondence as required
  • Assists in contract administration
  • Assists in employee time and recordkeeping
  • Assists in coordinating work with other project team members - construction managers, quality specialists, safety, etc.
  • Participates in meetings to coordinate work
  • Develops and maintains resource information on products, vendors, subcontractors, government requirements, etc.
  • Secure material orders, assist superintendents with material orders
  • Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient and effective completion of tasks and projects.
Education & Experience Requirements
  • Degree: Construction Management, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, other STEM based degree programs. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

Work Location and Travel:

On project site daily with up to 15% travel
