Wainwright Talent Partners in Orlando, FL is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support project teams in meeting schedule and budget goals, under the direction of the Director of Operations. The APM will coordinate with Project Executives, PMs, on-site staff, and develop relationships with clients, designers, owners representatives, and subcontractors.

Responsibilities include document control, RFIs, submittals, schedule updates, change orders, meeting minutes, and closeout activities.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Civil Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent is required.
  • 1-3 years of experience in related construction fields.
  • Thorough knowledge of Safety Program.
  • Basic scheduling understanding.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Ability to read, understand, and execute blueprints, drawings, and plans.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, log, file, and control shop drawings.
  • Assist with RFIs processing.
  • Update schedule with help of Superintendent.
  • Prepare and distribute meeting minutes.
  • Assist with subcontractor solicitation and procurement.
  • Assist with closeouts and final project materials.

Job description

ASSISTANT PROJECT MANAGER

Reports to: This position will report to the Director of Operations .

Indirect reporting: Project Executive, Senior Project Manager and Project Manager.

Objective : The Assistant Project Manager ( A PM) is responsible to assist the project team in the completion of each assigned project within established schedule and budget parameters, and in a manner consistent with customer - focused project delivery standards.

The A PM must be able to multi - task, prioritize his/her own responsibilities .

The A PM is also expected to develop and foster strong relationships with industry contacts, including customers, the design community, owners representatives, an d subcontractors.

Supervisory Responsibility :

The A PM will work in concert with Dir. of Ops, PX, PM's, on - site Superintendents, and the General Superintendent

Communicate and enforces safety procedures and site rules

Assist in the management of overall project and project requirements

Duties/ Responsibilities :
  • Receive, log, file, and control shop drawings
  • Assist with processing of RFIs
  • Follow up on quantities in place weekly with support of Superintendent
  • Quantity take - off for field procurement and change orders
  • Assist Project Manager and Superintendent in preparing and updating schedule
  • Assist Project Manager with change order proposals
  • Prepare and distribute meeting minutes
  • Assist Super in d evelop ment of initial punch list
  • Manage closeout and procure all closeout materials as the project progresses
  • Assist with Subcontractor solicitation and procurement
  • Assistance with estimating
  • Submittal and shop drawing review and processing
  • Assist with and attend PSR meetings
  • Closeouts; timely, complete and accurate
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Require d Skills and Abilities :
  • B.S. in Civil Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent, plus experience/knowledge of construction .
  • 1 - 3 years of experience in related construction fields.
  • Thorough knowledge of Safety Program.
  • Basic scheduling understanding.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Extremely detail oriented .
  • Ability to read, understand, and execute blueprints, drawings, and plans.
  • U nderstanding of quality building practices.
  • Ability to quickly identify problems .
  • ComputerEase, Pro c ore, BluBeam, Excel and Word experience preferred .
Physical Requirements:

Workers must be able to: see well (either naturally or with correction); coordinate the movements of eyes, hands and fingers; use hands, arms and fingers fully; climb and maintain balance on ladders and scaffolding; stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or work at h eights as required; and list and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally more.

Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the construction site in all types of weather.

Education and experience:

Bachelors degree in civil engineering or construction management, or related field required.
