Job summary

AECOM is seeking an Assistant Project Manager in New York, NY to support major renovation projects at Woodhull Hospital. You will assist in administration, coordinate subcontractors, and help manage scope, schedule, and budget to ensure project success.

Responsibilities include directing project teams, enforcing policies, interfacing with clients, and maintaining safety and quality standards. This role offers on-site work and growth within a global infrastructure leader.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS + 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Preferred: Construction Manager/Construction Engineer with ~10 years’ experience.
  • Experience with Change Orders; coordination with Facilities/Operations.
  • Experience with Health Care facilities and/or correctional facilities is a plus.
  • Experience with multiple projects in a similar location with different contractors is a plus.

Job Description

AECOMis currently seeking aAssistant Project Managerfor our New York, NY office location in our program management business line supporting major renovation project(s) at Woodhull Hospital in Brooklyn, NY.

This person will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

  • Supports overall management administration to project and assists in establishing project specific objectives and policies.
  • May provide technical direction and guidance to subordinate managers, enforces company and project policies, maintains close client interface, and ensures all facets of the project are constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule through subordinate managers and supervisors.
  • Position may have significant profit/loss responsibility for assigned construction project.
  • Responsible for client/project development, resource management, and supervision of construction activities as they relate to contract administration and management of scope, schedule, budget, quality, safety, and change management.
  • Responsible for overall project performance including job profit and loss for Construction projects. Job duties include but aren't limited to: coordination and integration of multidiscipline project functions including but not limited to construction, project controls, quality and commercial administration in a manner to meet project operational and business objectives. Responsible to establish a culture of safe work performance. Activity engaged in developing and managing client relations.
  • Plans, schedules, and coordinates projects to repair, alter and renovate building structure and installed equipment, and supervise a multi-disciplined construction workforce performing work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • May be engaged in hiring subcontractors, monitoring change orders, regulatory compliance, financial reporting, negotiating solutions to major issues raised during construction that cannot be resolved on the job site at the Superintendent level, ordering removal of employees or dismissal of subs.
Qualifications
  • BA/BS + 4years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Requirements

  • Construction Manager/Construction Engineer with ~10 years’ experience
  • Change Order review experience needed, with a public agency is a plus
  • Ability to schedule special inspections/testing/shutdowns
  • Coordination experience with Facility/Operations
  • Experience in Health Care facilities and/or correctional facilities a plus
  • Experience with multiple projects in a similar location with different contractors is a plus
