  • Experience supporting program or project management activities involving complex, cross-functional initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Support end-to-end execution of multiple programs from initial capture through delivery and sustainment using established program management processes.
  • Assist with defining and managing product program content, including feature decisions, scope management, cost, weight, and performance trade-offs.
  • Coordinate integration activities across vehicle systems, including chassis, armor, powertrain, electrical, software, and upfit components.
  • Support program governance by maintaining schedules, risk registers, financial reviews, issue tracking, and performance dashboards.
  • Prepare program updates, presentations, and decision materials for internal reviews and executive-level meetings.
  • Independently manage smaller projects or workstreams with defined scope and guidance from senior program leadership.

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Assistant Program Manager ITPP – GM Defense based in United States.

This role supports the successful execution of complex defense and technology programs by coordinating cross-functional teams, customers, and operational activities.
You will work closely with senior program leadership to manage scope, schedule, cost, quality, and risk across innovative mission-focused solutions.
The position offers the opportunity to contribute to advanced vehicle platforms, integrated technologies, and power and propulsion programs serving government and international customers.
You will act as a key connector between engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, finance, business development, and customer stakeholders.

Accountabilities:

The Assistant Program Manager will support program execution activities across multiple defense and technology initiatives, partnering with program leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery. The role combines project coordination, customer engagement, financial awareness, risk management, and process improvement.

  • Support cross-functional program teams across engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, contracts, finance, sustainment, and business development.
  • Identify program risks, support mitigation planning, and help drive corrective actions to improve delivery performance.
  • Improve workflows and operational processes to increase efficiency, quality, and predictability.
  • Support customer interactions, reviews, and meetings with government and industry partners.
  • Assist with business development activities, including proposal support, requirements analysis, cost estimates, and execution planning.
  • Represent assigned workstreams in customer discussions while maintaining alignment with program objectives.
  • Promote a culture of safety, compliance, integrity, and continuous improvement.
  • Support onboarding, coordination, and informal guidance of program support team members when needed.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate brings experience supporting complex programs, strong collaboration skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-moving environment. They should demonstrate business judgment, technical understanding, and confidence working with diverse stakeholders.

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in quality, manufacturing, engineering, purchasing, supply chain, operations, or related business disciplines.
  • Experience supporting program or project management activities involving complex, cross-functional initiatives.
  • Strong ability to collaborate across technical and business teams and influence stakeholders toward shared objectives.
  • Experience with system integration, including mechanical, electrical, software, armor/upfit, or vehicle-level integration, is strongly preferred.
  • Understanding of program financial tracking, including budgets, forecasts, cost management, and profitability considerations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including preparing executive-level presentations and reports.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Project.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity, prioritize effectively, and independently drive work forward.
  • Experience with vehicle programs, defense technologies, government customers, power systems, propulsion solutions, or similar industries is preferred.
  • Familiarity with defense acquisition processes, government programs, or commercial technologies adapted for mission-specific applications is a plus.
  • U.S. citizenship is required due to government contract requirements and export control restrictions.
