Arcfield in Washington, D.C. is seeking a Senior Operations Lead Integration Engineer to support Navy SSP Re-Entry Systems. This unique and challenging role requires a strong understanding of both DOE nuclear weapon systems and DoD delivery platforms. The successful candidate will serve as a key technical liaison, managing a small group of seasoned technical experts, dealing with complex interfaces, ensuring system compatibility in all operational environments/locations, and driving successful integration activities throughout the program lifecycle. The candidate should be intimately familiar with nuclear weapon programs, submarine fleet operations, fleet CONOPS and be able to manage having multiple critical tasks at once. This position will require the candidate to represent the Re-Entry Systems Branch at various meetings and have a comprehensive understanding of how to lead and manage a project from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary right hand to the Operational Systems Group Program Manager providing high level operational support and ensuring seamless execution.
  • Act as the central point of contact for all delegated tasks, assuming full accountability for the completion of complex, high-priority engineering assessments assigned to the team.
  • Capable of delivering expert-level briefings and technical reports to senior-grade civilians and high-ranking military officials, translating complex data into actionable decision points.
  • Direct complex engineering efforts involving the physical and functional integration of warhead systems into air frames and launch platforms.
  • Apply a comprehensive understanding of Nuclear Surety standards (AFMAN 91-118/119, DoDI 3150.02) across the entire weapon system to ensure all engineering designs meet stringent DoD certification requirements.
  • Lead engineering projects throughout their lifecycle ensuring compliance with applicable government standards across stakeholders ensuring alignment in meeting the mission priorities.
  • Facilitate and lead intensive collaboration efforts across various Project Officer Groups, SSP branches, and external stakeholders to maintain technical synchronization.
  • Formulate Plan of Action and Milestones for projects and collaborate with multiple stakeholders to ensure milestone accomplishments.
  • Conduct detailed system-level analysis, including performance modeling, trade studies, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate integration risks at Navy facilities and launch platforms.
  • Lead working groups as a Navy Chair stand-in for SP28 government personnel or serve as the lead engineer responsible for advising the Navy chair on all matters pertaining to the working group assigned.
  • Act as a customer liaison representing the Re-Entry Branch at various meetings.
  • Develop and review documentation, weapon specifications, interface control documents and supporting material for technical accuracy.
  • Be data and process driven with the ability to identify areas of concern and able to provide recommendations for overall improvement.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's (with 8-10 years of experience) or master’s degree (with 6-8 years of experience) or a PhD (with 3-5 years' experience) in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field. Education can be substituted for military service and subject matter expert knowledge on nuclear programs and/or submarine weapons systems.
  • Must possess and maintain active Top Secret clearance.
  • Ability to navigate the unique challenges of a high-tempo engineering role that requires balancing rigid technical specifications with the fluid requirements of multi-agency partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and chair formal working groups with external stakeholders.
  • Exceptional ability to translate complex technical data into actionable executive briefings.
  • A passion for learning, helping others, sharing team knowledge, and contributing value to the mission in any way possible.
Desired
  • Prior SSP, NNSA, Strategic Weapons Facility and/or submarine experience leading nuclear weapon programs.
  • Experience with the Tomahawk Land Attack Missile - Nuclear (TLAM-N)
  • Demonstrated expert-level mastery of the Phase 6.X nuclear weapons lifecycle process and DoD 5000.02 acquisition process providing technical guidance from development through production.
  • Strong background in Systems Integration, including resolving hardware/software interface issues in a \"System of Systems\" environment.
  • Willingness to learn and become a subject matter expert.

This is the projected compensation range for this position. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
