Department of Molecular, Cellular & Developmental Biology

The Department of Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology (MCDB) at Yale University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2027. The department is particularly interested in candidates whose biological research program resides within synthetic biology, genomics, or artificial intelligence. We also welcome applications from candidates in any area of molecular, cellular, or developmental biology, using any system, who will contribute to the excellence of our community of scholars. We expect the appointee to be a dynamic participant in the departmental mission of teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels in subject areas such as molecular, cellular or developmental biology, biochemistry, genetics, genomics, systems or synthetic biology, plant biology, or neurobiology.

Qualifications

The selected candidate must have met the requirements for a Ph.D. or equivalent degree at the time of hire, as well as a proven record of outstanding research that demonstrates originality and self-motivation. Excellent communication skills for research and teaching are necessary. (NOTE: Interviews and talks will be part of a two-day symposium scheduled for January 7-8, 2027)
