San Jose State University’s Department of Physics and Astronomy invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in quantum information science, beginning in August 2027. Qualifications

Doctoral degree in physics or a related field.
QIS research experience that complements departmental expertise.
Commitment to teaching lower-, upper-division and graduate courses in physics and quantum information science.
Awareness of and sensitivity to diverse student populations.

Responsibilities

Teach BS/BA and MS level courses, including upper division and graduate courses related to quantum information science.
Engage undergraduate and graduate students in physics research and develop an externally funded program.
Participate in department/college/university governance and service.
Organize all classes within the Canvas LMS.
Promote inclusive course materials and advisement for a diverse student body.
