Job summary

The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Washington, in collaboration with Seattle Children’s Research Institute, invites applications for an Assistant Professor (without tenure by reason of funding) on the faculty-scientist track, anticipated Summer/Fall 2026.

The candidate will sustain a funded research program focused on pediatric mental health care and services access, contribute to the Healthy Lives Institute, and engage in teaching and mentorship across trainees while providing

Qualifications

• Earned a doctorate degree (MD or DO or foreign equivalent).
• Documented expertise in health services research, health policy, epidemiology, psychology, or related fields.
• Eligible for medical licensure in Washington state.
• Prior research funding and productivity with peer‑reviewed publications.
• USMLE steps completion or equivalent for H-1B visa eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain a funded research program in pediatric mental health care and services access.
• Provide direction and leadership in the Healthy Lives Institute and related collaborations.
• Contribute to teaching and mentoring of trainees across programs.
• Practice clinically with outpatient supervision and participate in student/resident/fellow teaching and supervision.
