Job summary

The Division of Hematology-Oncology in the Department of Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania invites applications for several Assistant Professor positions in the non-tenure clinical track. Expertise in palliative oncology is required, with leadership to engage university, health system, and community stakeholders.

Responsibilities include teaching fellows in palliative care, ambulatory palliative care consultations, and development of embedded clinics

Qualifications

• MD or equivalent degree required; board certification or eligibility in Medical Oncology required.
• Leadership and teaching experience with palliative oncology to collaborate with university, health system, and community stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Teach palliative care with fellows who rotate through the Palliative and Supportive Oncology Clinic and contribute to education in serious illness communication and symptom management.
• Provide ambulatory palliative care consultations for cancer patients in collaboration with oncology teams.
• Develop and pilot embedded palliative and supportive oncology clinics at Abramson Cancer Center sites in the greater Philadelphia area.
• Lead quality improvement initiatives to improve end-of-life outcomes for cancer patients within Penn Medicine.
