Job summary

Connecticut College’s Department of Mathematics and Statistics invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Statistics beginning July 1, 2027. The teaching load will be four courses in the first year and five in the second year.

The department offers a major and minor in Statistics and Data Science and the successful candidate will teach a wide range of statistics courses. Preference will be given to applicants with a Ph.D.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Statistics, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, Mathematics, or closely related field; ABD candidates will also be considered.
• Priority will be given to applications submitted by November 15, 2026. Applicants should submit: a cover letter, a curriculum vitae, copies of graduate transcripts, three letters of recommendation (including at least one addressing teaching), a teaching statement, a research statement.

Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities

The Connecticut College Department of Mathematics and Statistics invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Statistics position beginning July 1, 2027.

The department offers both a major and a minor in Statistics and Data Science. The successful candidate will be expected to teach a wide variety of statistics courses offered by the department, and may have the opportunity to develop new courses.
