Iowa State University invites applications for two tenure-track assistant professors in Statistics. The positions, starting August 16, 2027, seek experts in statistics and data science with one emphasis on sports analytics.

The appointees will build a high-impact research portfolio, pursue external funding, and collaborate with leading researchers across ISU. You will teach graduates and undergraduates, advise graduate students, and contribute to one of the nation’s largest statistics graduate

Qualifications

PhD or equivalent degree in statistics or closely related discipline by start date.
Foundational training in statistics and data science.
Ability to teach statistics and data science classes at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Ability to develop and sustain a high-impact research program with potential external funding.
Ability to contribute to Iowa State University's growing strength in data science.
