Assistant Professor of Russian

MIDDLEBURY, VT

The Russian Department invites applicants for a full‑time tenure‑track position in Russian beginning fall 2027. Research specialization is open. Applicants should demonstrate an ability to teach Russian literature and culture, native or near‑native fluency in Russian and English, and interest and experience in teaching language at the undergraduate level. The position entails teaching Russian at all levels and courses in English on Russian culture and literature.

As part of a full teaching load, the candidate will also regularly contribute to Middlebury’s First Year Seminar Program and Winter Term course offerings. All faculty at Middlebury are also expected to contribute to service to the College, including committee membership and serving as Director or Chair of a program or department when asked.
