Kansas State University’s Department of Landscape Architecture and Regional & Community Planning invites applications for an Assistant Professor in Regional & Community Planning. The candidate will teach courses across Regional & Community Planning, Real Estate, and Community Development programs, while pursuing scholarly activity and service.

The position is on-site in Manhattan, KS, with responsibilities including teaching excellence, research, graduate supervision, and interdisciplinary

Qualifications

Ph.D. in Planning or a closely allied field or show evidence that a Ph.D. will be completed prior to the start of the appointment
Demonstrated evidence of or potential for inspired teaching
Demonstrated evidence of or potential for scholarly productivity
Ability to help students develop career-ready professional skills
Ability to work with a wide range of student interests and academic levels

Responsibilities

Deliver creative, effective teaching in core curricula and area of expertise
Engage in significant, peer-reviewed research, scholarship, and/or creative activities
Supervise independent graduate research
Participate in departmental, college, university, and professional service
Contribute to an environment that fosters collegiality internally and externally through interdisciplinary collaboration
