Job summary

The University of South Carolina Aiken invites applications for a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Geology, beginning August 2027. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate geology, hydrology, and GIS courses, and build an active student-research program within the Environmental Earth Systems concentration.

Required: Ph.D. in Hydrology, Geology, Environmental Science, or related field by start date; demonstrated GIS experience; excellence in undergraduate teaching.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. required by start date; ABD considered if degree conferred by appointment.
• Demonstrated GIS experience and potential for undergraduate teaching excellence.
• Ability to develop an active scholarly program engaging undergraduates.

Responsibilities

• Teach introductory and upper-level geology, hydrology, and GIS courses.
• Advise students and supervise undergraduate research projects.
• Develop and sustain an active scholarly program and contribute to service.
