The English Department at Indiana University South Bend invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Composition and First Year Writing in the department’s expository writing program, to begin August 1, 2027. Applicants should have enthusiasm for teaching first-year students and First-Year Writing in a First Year Writing General Education program integrated within a collegial and lively English Department. The full-time load (100%FTE) is 12 credit hours (typically four courses) each fall and spring semester, with one course reassigned time for scholarly and creative activities following university and campus policies. Successful applicants will be expected to demonstrate a commitment to quality instruction, maintain an active research agenda, and engage in service activities.
