"At Baruch College we believe that student success is everyone's responsibility" The Department of Natural Sciences at Baruch College, City University of New York, invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Biology, starting August 26, 2027. The candidate is expected to establish an externally funded research program that will complement the collaborative, interdisciplinary environment in the department and provide research opportunities for undergraduate students. We are seeking a candidate with excellent teaching experience and research in any area of molecular or cellular biology or genetics. The candidate would be expected to teach Molecular and Cellular Biology and develop a new course in their specialty.

The Department of Natural Sciences offers general education courses for non-majors as well as majors in Biological Sciences (over 300 students), Environmental Science, and Environmental Studies, and minors in Chemistry, Environmental Sustainability, and Physics. Baruch College is in the vibrant Gramercy Park District of Manhattan. It is easily reached from the other boroughs of New York City, Westchester County, and New Jersey by car and public transportation. Its buildings include the 1929 Field Building and the modern Newman Vertical Campus completed in 2001. Qualifications

Ph.D. degree in Molecular Biology/Genetics/Biology or a closely related field is required by August 26, 2027, when the appointment begins. We welcome applicants whose expertise complements or extends the research programs available in the department. Competitive applicants will have a strong record of peer-reviewed publications in their field, a plan to obtain external funding, promise of teaching excellence, and a commitment to mentoring undergraduate researchers. Postdoctoral experience is a plus.

Compensation

• $98,231- $112,841; Salary commensurate with education and experience.
