Middlebury College's Greenberg-Starr Department of Chinese invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in modern Chinese language, literature, and culture beginning Fall 2027. Native or near-native proficiency in Mandarin and English is essential. The typical teaching load is 2 fall courses and 2 spring courses plus a Winter Term course

Responsibilities

• Teach modern Chinese language, literature, and culture; courses in English on Chinese literature and culture.
• Contribute to Middlebury's First Year Seminar Program and Winter Term offerings.
• Engage in service to the College and department as needed.
