Job summary

SVSU Saginaw Valley State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Teacher Education: Middle & Secondary (Professional Foundations). Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in-person and online, advising students, maintaining an active scholarship agenda, and participating in department and university service.

The candidate will contribute to equity-focused initiatives, collaborate with colleagues, and support student success

Qualifications

• Earned Doctorate in Teacher Education, Secondary Education, or a related field.
• ABD candidates will be considered if a dissertation defense date is scheduled.
• Minimum of three years of teaching experience in 5-12 classrooms.
• Experience and ability to positively interact with all members of the campus community.
• Ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodations.
• Experience and knowledge in professional foundations and methods education is preferred.
• Evidence of scholarship in education and service to department, college, community, and profession.

Responsibilities

• Teach at undergraduate and graduate levels in-person and online.
• Advise students and support degree progression.
• Maintain an active scholarship agenda and publish findings.
• Engage in service within and outside the university.
