Overview

Assistant Professor, Microbiology, Virology, Host-Pathogen Interactions (Tenure-Track) at Stony Brook University. Location: Stony Brook, New York. Open Date: Sep 16, 2025. Deadline: Oct 31, 2025 at 11:59 PM Eastern Time.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain an extramurally funded research program in virology, microbiology, and host-pathogen interactions with emphasis areas including molecular virology, viral pathogenesis, emerging viral pathogens, and models of viral disease.
• Participate in teaching and service within the Department of Microbiology and Immunology.
• Collaborate with faculty and utilize core facilities; mentor graduate students and postdoctoral fellows.
• Contribute to department and university missions; engage in diversity and inclusion efforts.

Qualifications

• Required: PhD or MD degree (or foreign equivalent) and three years or more of postdoctoral experience.
